Financial advisor in Sydney for tech executives
I’m Mike Sikar. For 18 years I’ve helped Sydney tech executives turn RSUs, super and home equity into a plan to retire early on $15K to $25K a month.

Who I help
Built for Sydney’s senior tech professionals
Most of my clients work for the global tech companies with big Sydney teams. Think Google, Salesforce, Microsoft, AWS, Atlassian and Canva. They’re Sales Directors, VPs, Heads of and senior leaders.
They earn well. On paper they’re doing great. But the money is spread across salary, commission, RSUs, super and a big Sydney mortgage, and nobody is joining the dots.
That’s my job. I pull it all into one plan.
We’re usually a good fit if you:
- Are 40 or over
- Earn $400K or more
- Have $500K or more in super and $1M or more in home equity
- Can save $4K a month on top of your minimum loan repayments
What makes us different
- Tech is all we do. RSUs, ESPPs, commission and employee share plans are what I deal with every day.
- An investment background. Alongside 18 years in financial planning, I spent 9 years in stockbroking. Very few advisers who know RSUs and ESPPs inside out also know markets from the inside.
- Mortgage broking in house. My team restructures and refinances your loans too, so debt recycling happens under one roof. See how it works.
- Retirement income modelling. We model your whole balance sheet, year by year, so you can see exactly when you can stop. See how it works.

Our Sydney office: Level 26, 25 Bligh Street
Sydney clients can sit down with me face to face. Our office is at Level 26, 25 Bligh Street, Sydney NSW 2000. It’s a short walk from Wynyard and Martin Place.
Plenty of clients start with a call on Teams, then come in for the bigger meetings. Whatever suits your diary.
You’ll also get to know my team, including Jarrod Walter, Financial Adviser, and Chris Phillips, Head of Strategy. Meet the team.
The Sydney problem
High income, high costs, and a lot of moving parts
Sydney is expensive. A great salary disappears fast into the mortgage, school fees and lifestyle. Meanwhile, RSUs vest every quarter and the tax bill arrives later.
Here’s what I see most with Sydney clients:
- RSUs piling up in one stock, with no plan for when to sell
- A big chunk of wealth locked in the family home, doing nothing
- Investment properties bought interstate, because Sydney rental yields are so low
- Super that hasn’t had a proper strategy since the day it was set up
Buying interstate is common. Many of my Sydney clients own investment property in Brisbane, and plenty are looking at Melbourne. That brings each state’s land tax rules into the plan. For 2026, an individual’s land tax threshold is $1,075,000 in NSW, $600,000 in Queensland and just $50,000 in Victoria.
The goal is simple: get every part of your balance sheet working toward the day you can stop, on your terms.
How I help
Advice for Sydney tech executives
- RSU advice: a plan for vesting, tax and when to sell
- Debt recycling: turning home loan debt into tax deductible investment debt
- Super strategy: contributions, catch up deductions and the right investment mix
- Tax structuring: trusts, companies and who should own what
- Property strategy: whether your next property makes sense, and where
- Retirement income modelling: when you can stop, and how much you can spend
Then, as your Personal CFO, my team and I keep it all on track every year.
I’m pro property. I’ve always believed high income earners should use good debt, and that hasn’t changed. Negative gearing on established homes bought after Budget night is ending, but that doesn’t make property a bad idea. It’s about buying the right property. Many of my clients are now looking at commercial property: higher rental income, and it can still be negatively geared against your salary.
